Emil in Skansen

Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum showing the rural life of the different parts of Sweden, had a great program for kids on the weekend ending 25 May 2014. Emil i Skansen!

There was no lack of the characters from the Astrid Lindgren's novels.

A very patient horse, and so nice to kids!

These two ladies look as if they have just come from the book.

And even home-made Zlatans! Well, to be fair Sweden loves both Zlatan and Emil, so that is justified.

Emil is an active boy full of curiosity and childish games. Means a lot of it should be present on his day! So what was offered?

What about to paint the faces?

Angry? Break some dishes!

 Hay fun for the whole family.

 Oh, and this is my favourite. These two young ladies seem to feel comfortable surrounded by hay.

And even a tot can find what to do!

Emil could be seen everywhere, even in the remote spots of Skansen.

Christmas Lights on Regent Street 2013

The idea of Christmas lights - 2012 for London's noble Regent Street was so beautiful that London is repeating it again. The difference is in the change of the Olympic-2012 theme to the cartoons, making it more Christmassy. Old ideas work well sometimes - the reflections in the windows of the shops, taxis and busses just want you to stop and watch...

Hanbury Street Art

What a bright reason to put away all the things one is stuck in, and get back to something one is fond to.

Just a short walk by sunny-crisp November Shoreditch, and surrounding images are screaming-begging to get captured. Even more reason: every little knows that street art doesn't stay still, and the masterpiece you pass by this moment may escape from the wall same day. Hence, hot and fresh from London: famous Hanbury street art as for today.

Bourton-on-the-Water or Bourton on the Snow?

When the snow never stops falling, and winter finally justifies its definition of being a white season, why not to go to one of the most beautiful places in England, Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds?

These photos were made during the showy walk of the last weekend trip in the picturesque High Street of the Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire.

There is always streaming water in Bourton-on-the-Water.

 Winter fairy-tale of the one of the ten prettiest villages in England continues even when almost all tea-rooms, restaurants and museums are closed.

 The short walk in such a romantic place is so nice, and is also nice to look at the snow from the window staying warm.

 Calm, peaceful and incredibly romantic, called 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds.

Not too many visitors on the open terraces of the usually overcrowded tea-rooms.

Winter paradox? Oh, in the Hobgoblin pub one can be warmed up if not scared yet!
