Christmas at Trafalgar Square
"I am a gift. So are you,
and I feel you blossom and sweet fruit.
I laugh, I weep, I wait in patience,
I sing for the healing of all nations.
Dear creatures..."
This is one of the poems from Poetry Society's Look North More Often Project. It is written as a mutual effort of many children to celebrate the annual Christmas gift which comes from Norway. Each year since 1947, the city of Oslo send to London a Christmas tree as a symbol of Anglo-Norwegian friendship. This is to commemorate the British support during the World War II. The Norwegian Christmas tree embellishes the central London point, Trafalgar Square.
This year, the spectacular Trafalgar Square has also become a home to the memorial to hero of the people's hearts across the world Nelson Mandela who has died on 5th of December 2014.

Drunky Santas - London's Pride
Only in London? Walking down the London central streets and parks the other nice December day one could easily spot loads of Santas and be happy about 'Christmas all around'
and even spot... oh my dear-deer...
But upon the closer look... Beer? Is it what Brits can add to the tradition? Seriously? Shouldn't Drunky Santas be banned at public places, especially such as Winter Wonderland where families come with their kids?
And... But of course, the hard Santa's work entitles them to chill out. London Santas and their deer relax in a typically London way occupying all central London pubs before heading to Lapland. Oh, well.

Christmas Lights of Hyde Park
Christmas + Hyde Park = Winter Wonderland. It looks like a fairytale from the distance, and from the closer look, too. Hence, it seemed to be a good idea to bring a visiting friend. And indeed, these lights are charming.
And upon the closer look, and higher exposure - a fascinating queue :) Night photography is always fun!

Third Sunday of Advent
Another week yet to wait for the Christmas, and one more December Sunday means one more Christmas candle to add to the cozy eve at home. Watching the play of light with Canon.

Little Christmas Market at Angel Islington
London in December is all about the Christmas markets popping up here and there, big and fancy, or tiny and local. Last week, a local Christmas fair was set up in the tiny park on Upper street, Angel, Islington. For those for whom travelling far for small hand crafted Christmas presents is not of their likes, there were stalls with all small things, knitted, crafted, made up and collected. There was nice warming winter food with wildburgers (boar and venison? Why not?) and (but of course) Italian stalls, traditional roast pork and others. And the Christmas trees, of course.

Christmas Market at the British Library
Not only for nerds. These December days, when various places across London host traditional Christmas markets, the British Library also opens it doors. With a little cute Christmas market outside...
Maybe, the British Library Christmas tree could have loads of books on it? ;)
The Christmas continues inside the library.
And for nerds, too!
A few micros on Christmas decorations, the latter ones always make my heart warm and bring the feelings of childhood.

Lego Goes Christmas
Lego's instalments are always cool, and they didn't let down this Christmas. Check out for your favourite stories and characters. First comes... Ded Moroz! A real Slavic Father Frost Character alike Santa Claus but of course more serious...

Another brick in the wall?
Merry Lego Christmas!

Christmas Lights on Regent Street 2013
The idea of Christmas lights - 2012 for London's noble Regent Street was so beautiful that London is repeating it again. The difference is in the change of the Olympic-2012 theme to the cartoons, making it more Christmassy. Old ideas work well sometimes - the reflections in the windows of the shops, taxis and busses just want you to stop and watch...

Second Sunday of Advent
The mulled wine smells gorgeous, and so do the clementines, and another week before Christmas is over. It is the time to light up the candles for the Second Sunday of Advent.
Christmas at John Lewis
These are a few shots from of the most popular British retailer, John Lewis. Simple and elegant but ready for the Christmas, too. I played here a bit with the lines, objects, colours and directions, and here the outcome.
